Dr. Jie Wu Professor and Chairman, IEEE Fellow Department of Computer and Information Science Temple University, Philadelphia, USA | Lecture :Thursday June 2, 2011, at 11:00AM Location: Room 1060 (Girls Side) Faculty of Information Technology Building (Maqam Campus)
Roundtable Discussion Thursday June 2, 2011, 1:00 PM Location: 3017 FIT Building (Dean's Conference Room) Abstract With the advances of wireless technology, more network applications will be wireless and mobile in the future. This talk focuses on some fundamental challenges in wireless networks and mobile computing. On the technical side, we discuss two challenges with mobility control and green communication/networking. On the application side, we look at the role of wireless networks in the future of the Internet, especially the GENI project sponsored by US NSF. Finally, we consider wireless applications to be a part of a large ecosystem that includes traditional high performance computing and cloud computing. Biography:Dr Jie Wu is chair and professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Temple University, USA.
